Shot in Youghal, Cork short film LAMB has been nominated for an IFTA

The big night is on May 7th.
LAMB, a tense psychological thriller by Cork filmmaker Sinéad O’Loughlin, has been nominated for Best Live Action Short Film at the 2023 Irish Film and Television Academy Awards.
Shot on location in Youghal and starring Aoife Duffin and Glanmire actor Éanna Hardwicke, who has also been nominated for a Rising Star award at the IFTAs, the short film charts an ordinary day that takes a sinister turn for a woman and her child when a stranger walks into their isolated rural home.
Nominations were shortlisted by Irish Academy members as well as specialist jury panels of industry experts from around the world.
“My intention in writing LAMB was to create a gripping, tense psychological thriller about a woman’s worst nightmare walking into her home.” said O’Loughlin.
“As a director, I wanted the experience of the audience to mimic Sarah’s emotional journey throughout the piece. We’ve had great reaction to the piece so far with audiences and critics alike.”
The upcoming 20th Anniversary IFTA Awards Ceremony, hosted by Deirdre O’Kane, will take place on Sunday, May 7th at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre. RTÉ will broadcast the ceremony and highlights from the IFTA Red Carpet, the awards ceremony and backstage will also be distributed to over 120 news channels worldwide.
Lamb is currently on the film festival circuit in 2023 with screenings at Achill Island Film Festival and Fastnet Film Festival in Schull in May.
