For those whose choice to move abroad is more out of necessity than desire, homesickness can hit extra hard. But certain tokens that remind us of home can have special significance.
Laura Fitz, an illustrator, and artist based in Cork, creates lovingly nostalgic hand-drawn street signs from around the Rebel city.
“Our homes hold such memories and these little street sign illustrations of where you live/have lived are a small representation of these memories,” Laura explained to her Instagram fans.
Each piece is customisable to any street sign and makes for the perfect gift for anyone hoping to carry a piece of home with them when they’re abroad.

Each 6 x 8inch piece is made with acrylic paint, and costs €25 unframed or €30 framed plus post and packaging if necessary.
