They’re magical to watch.
If you spot some surfers gliding across the water, despite the absence of any visible waves this weekend, you’re not losing your marbles.
At Inch Beach in East Cork, there’s an opportunity to see some brave riders on jetboards over the August bank holiday… and you can even try one out for yourself.
The Carver X jetboards, designed for riders weighing over 85kg, will be in action from 6pm on Friday. Head for the beach to chat to the owners about rental.
There’s plenty of other fun stuff to keep everyone occupied on the sand too; The Warming Wagon will be setting up Ireland’s only combined mobile pop-up woodfired seawater seaweed bath and sauna – just the thing to get you in the mood for a chill long weekend.
Afterwards you can order a woodfired pizza to enjoy while watching the sunset.
FYI: Inch Beach is marked as Ballintra on the map. It’s about nine miles south of Midleton.
