Sam’s Coffee just took over an iconic greengrocer’s on Cork’s Bandon Road

It’s the perfect new chapter for this special little shop.
Local entrepreneur Sam Ryan has opened his second Sam’s Coffee location in the Bandon Road building where Con’s Fruit and Veg operated for almost four decades before closing last year.
Con and Denise Murphy closed the doors of their much-loved veg shop last May, having run the business since the 1970s.

Now the central spot is about to become a hub of activity once again, as Sam adds to his empire, having opened the first Sam’s Coffee, a drive-thru in the car park of Saint Finbarr’s GAA Club, Neenan Park, Togher, in 2023.
“After three years of Sam’s Coffee, we introduce our second location, Sam’s Bandon Road,” Sam announced on Instagram.
“To say I’ve big shoes to fill is an understatement. Moving into a space that’s been the beating heart of a community for such a long time is a big honour for me and one that I’ll try my best to keep going,” he added.

“Big thanks to everyone that helped me get it up and running, and making my vision a reality. Yes, it took me way too long to get it open, but all that matters is that we got there in the end.”
