Sage Café is reopening with a lively new menu and a salted caramel Baileys hot chocolate

You love to see it.
Just months after being wiped out by a devastating flood, chef Kevin Ahern is getting ready to reopen his Sage Café in Midleton with a delicious new menu.
The café will be offering a brunch and light lunch menu five days a week from Wednesday to Sunday from 8am to 4pm, kicking off on February 21st.

We’ve had a sneak peek at the menu and it looks delicious; we’re talkin’ huevos rancheros with flatbread and jalapeno salsa, Turkish eggs with yogurt and chickpeas, peanut rayu and fried shallots, and a Sesh Burger with bacon, cheese, egg, maple syrup and hot sauce.
There’s a house sausage roll served with beetroot relish too, buttermilk waffles and a lemon drizzle French toast to creme fraiche, blackberries, and local honey.
“The main focus will be on a funky style brunch venue, which is needed here in East Cork,” Kevin told us.
“We will have cocktails on the go as well as a light lunch menu served daily with sambos, soup, and a hot dish of the day.
Most exciting of all is the Boozy Buds and Jam Jar Cocktails list. You can turn your brunch into a little party with a couple of Morning Haze Irish Espresso Martinis (€6), a Hail Mary with tomato juice, hot sauce, spices, and olives (€6), or a Salted Caramel Bailey’s Hot Chocolate (€7).
As if we needed an excuse to head out and support the Sage crew as they get back on their feet.
