Sad news as brilliant bakery Pure Flakey forced to close ‘for the foreseeable future’

We didn’t even mind queuing for their cruffins.
But sadly, much-loved pastry makers Pure Flakey are shutting up their Marina Market shop for good today.
The popular baked goods counter only launched at the Marina Market in December but the owners have announced that due to a combination of insurmountable operational hurdles, its run is already over:
“It is with a heavy heart we have to let everyone know that Pure Flakey will close on Sunday 8th of May at 8pm for the foreseeable future.” an Instagram post from the business read.
“Know that we do not make this decision lightly and we are beyond devastated that we can’t continue to provide you with all the Flakey goodness. Trust us, the cruffins will miss you too!

“We want to thank all of you for your continued support over the past couple of months, and we would also like to thank @marinamarketcork for their help.”
If you don’t know how you’ll cope without their donuts and pork and leek sausage rolls however there’s no need to panic: the business is owned by the folk behind Alchemy coffee shops so you can still get your fix there.
Word has it the famous cruffins will be popping up once a week too so keep an eye on @Alchemycoffeecork for updates.
