Roll up, roll up for an immersive circus experience at the Marina Market

Ever dreamed of being in the circus?
This June 18th–22nd, Cork’s Marina Market becomes the stage for the Cork Midsummer production, Scattered Sideways (The Scattering); an immersive circus theatre production that dives headfirst into the chaos of modern life.
Visitors will be invited to walk right into the middle of a set and be surrounded by a circus theatre performance.

Through a powerful blend of acrobatics, physical theatre, spoken word, soundscape, and film, the show explores continuous distraction of modern life, how we are constantly being bombarded with information and, as a consequence, have become disengaged rather than engaged with the world around us.
“This production aims to challenge what circus can be and how it can be a medium for socially engaged commentary.” explains writer and performer Will Flanagan of Alchemy Arts.
“This particular work looks to break the boundaries between audience and performer, and to create a more neutral, immersive environment than a formal theatre setting.”
The performance shifts between the intimate and the epic set within a visually striking set. An accompanying immersive installation will run outside of performance times at the Marina Market.
The installation is free to visit outside of performance times (€12.50/ €15) and will include multi-surfaced visuals and an immersive soundscape.
There will also be two ISL performances as part of the show run: Wednesday June 18th and June 20th. Book your tickets now here.
