Revealed: ALL the key dates for the Corkmas Christmas celebrations in Cork

By Yay Cork November 4, 2025November 4, 2025

You can almost feel the sparkle already.

Cork City Council has officially announced the return of Corkmas, the city’s magical celebration of all things festive — and it’s shaping up to be the most dazzling one yet.

From November 14th to December 31st, 2025, the city will shimmer with Christmas cheer, as streets come alive with twinkling lights, joyful music, and the irresistible scent of seasonal treats.

Expect the spectacular Corkmas Parade, bustling Christmas Markets, the enchanted Santa Experience, and the much-loved Ferris Wheel spinning once more over Grand Parade — the heart of Cork’s winter wonderland.

Here are the Corkmas 2025 dates to circle in the calendar now:

  • November 14th: Corkmas Parade (7pm)
  • November 21st: Opening of the Festive Markets, Emmett Place
  • November 28th: Opening of the Santa Experience, Emmett Place
  • November 28th: Opening of the Ferris Wheel, Grand Parade

First… Santa sets the lights to twinkling

The celebrations begin on Friday, November 14th, when the Corkmas Parade fills the city with light, music, and wonder from 7pm to 8pm.

Returning for its second year, the parade will feature dazzling floats, marching bands, performers, and of course, a very special visit from Santa Claus, marking the traditional switching on of Cork’s Christmas lights.

Soak up the atmosphere

Families can then enjoy the Christmas Market and Santa Experience at Emmett Place, open Thursday to Sunday from November 21st through December, offering festive food, handmade gifts, and magical memories for all ages.

Meanwhile, the iconic Ferris Wheel and vintage carousel will once again take pride of place on Grand Parade from 28 November, offering unbeatable views of the city’s winter wonderland.

“There’s a special kind of magic in Cork at Christmas, a warmth and togetherness that makes the city truly shine.” said Lord Mayor of Cork, Fergal Dennehy.

“Corkmas brings people of all ages into the heart of the city to celebrate what makes this time of year so special. It’s about community, connection, and supporting the local businesses, artists and craftspeople who help keep Cork’s festive spirit alive. Merry Corkmas, one and all!”

Adding to the festive atmosphere, a packed programme of free family-friendly events and live music performances will bring the city centre to life through December.
