Railway Park is getting a cool new activity track where local kids can learn to cycle

Work is already underway.
A hardworking group of local volunteers are taking one of the last remaining park spaces in the Northside of Cork City to a new level by installing an activity track where inner city children can learn to ride bikes and scooters in safety.
The Railway Park Community was started in 2017 by a group of St Luke’s residents who want to see the park on lower Grattan Hill restored as a play area for local children.
Having cleaned up the space, some playground equipment was installed and the park has since become a local hub for everything from children’s events to outdoor yoga fundraisers.
Here’s a sneak peek at the new track:

Now, with a cash injection from the Community Climate Action Fund, the next part of the project is coming to life.
The activity track, set to be unveiled soon, stretches into the unused part of the space. Children will be able to follow the arrows along the track, learning valuable skills that will help promote cycling among a younger generation of city residents.
