Going all Marie Kondo post-Christmas?
For those doing the big January clear-out and getting rid of anything that doesn’t spark joy, there is an opportunity to earn some money from your decluttering.

The Lavitt’s Quay store has curated a wish list of books that are top contenders for earning some extra moolah.
Here’s the lowdown on what they’re eager to welcome into their bookish haven. They are looking for popular fiction from 2021 onwards; classic and literary fiction; science fiction/fantasy/horror; history, especially Irish and Cork history; popular science/psychology/sociology/feminism; LGBTQ+ books; comic trade paperbacks and graphic novels; and leabhair Gaeilge.
Vibes and Scribes has also outlined a few book categories that won’t make the cut this time. Keep these in mind as you sift through your literary treasures.
They include younger children’s books; textbooks; hardcover or large format fiction unless published in 2022/23; business/self-help/computing books; historical fiction; books in languages other than Irish or English; cookery books unless very recent; and encyclopaedias.
Get rummaging. It’s a win-win for your shelves and your wallet.
