If your idea of a perfect evening involves great wine and seriously good pizza, this upcoming Cork event will be right up your street.
A special wine tasting celebrating Spain’s iconic Rioja region is coming to the Franciscan Well Bar on the North Mall on April 12th – and it comes with a delicious twist.
Hosted as part of an intimate tasting series, the evening will spotlight wines from Bodega 220 Cántaras, a winery known for producing expressive small-batch Rioja wines that showcase the character of the region.
Guests will be guided through a curated selection of wines from the Spanish producer, offering a chance to explore the flavours, styles, and stories behind one of the world’s most famous wine regions.

But what makes this tasting particularly interesting is the unexpected pairing. Each wine will be matched with authentic Neapolitan pizza from Pompeii Pizza, bringing together rich Rioja reds and freshly baked pizza in a relaxed tasting experience.
A small, relaxed tasting experience
The event is intentionally kept small and intimate, giving guests the chance to properly explore the wines, chat about the region, and enjoy the pairings in a laid-back setting.
