People are loving the stunning new elevated tree walkway at Marina Park

It’s a gorgeous addition to the city.
The elevated tree walkway, woodland paths, and Barrington’s Folly section of Marina Park are now open, and Cork families have been enjoying the leafy new trail all weekend.
This marks the opening of the second major section of Phase 2 of the 32-hectare Marina Park project, a development that is steadily transforming the area into one of Cork’s most significant green spaces. Earlier in the summer, the public gained access to Holland Park and the new playground, both of which have already become popular destinations for families, walkers, and visitors looking to enjoy the outdoors.

Looking ahead, excitement is building for the reopening of Atlantic Pond, the final section of this phase, which remains on track to welcome visitors in November.
Once open, it will complete a continuous network of spaces designed to encourage relaxation, play, and engagement with nature along the city’s waterfront.
“Marina Park, when completed, will be a regional park six times the size of Fitzgerald’s Park, the green heart at the centre of the 146 hectares regenerated Docklands area.” said a spokesperson for Cork City Council.

“It will be the first URDF (Urban Regeneration and Development Fund) funded project to be delivered as part of the Cork Docklands regeneration.” they added.
