Parade Forecast: Met Éireann says Cork will be cold but dry on Monday

It’s good news for parade-goers.
Met Éireann has confirmed that Monday’s weather will be mostly dry ahead of the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations all over Cork.
The largest St Patrick’s Day Parade will begin at 1pm on St Patrick’s Day, March 17th in Cork City Centre.
This year’s event will feature over 3000 participants and 57 groups, including The High School Spartan Legion Marching Band from Colorado and Batala, the international collection of local Samba groups from several areas in the UK and further afield, who wowed the crowds at their first appearance last year.

“There’ll be a few light showers around on Monday but it will remain dry in most areas.” said a forecaster.
“More in the way of cloud than in preceding days with only occasional sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees but feeling a little colder in a rather brisk easterly wind.”
It will be largely dry on Monday night apart from the chance of a few showers near the south coast. Lowest temperatures will range from 1 to 5 degrees.
We can expect a breezy day on Tuesday but with good spells of sunshine and highest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees.
Frost tonight
In the meantime, it will be cold tonight with clear spells and just patchy cloud.
There’ll be a widespread frost along with some icy patches and lowest temperatures of between -3 and +2 degrees in light and variable winds with a few mist or fog patches forming.
