One of Cork’s best loved vintage shops is moving (and another is coming back)

It reopens in April.
With a brand new location on St Patrick’s Quay, Miss Daisy Blue is primed for a busy summer as more and more sustainable shoppers flock to vintage stores in an effort to reduce their carbon fashion footprint.
According to retail analytics firm GlobalData, the affordable used item and resale market has grown 21 times faster than the retail market since 2017.
The new miss Daisy Blue location, chosen by owner Breda Casey, boasts fresh new decor and a little more room to dig out a gem than the original shop (pictured below) in Market Parade, between Patrick Street and Cork’s English Market.
Word has it the first fashion mavens will be allowed in during the coming weeks.
Mercury rising
Meanwhile, Mercury Goes Retrograde is open again, this time online.
Owner Mary Jo Murphy closed her bricks and mortar store on Drawbridge Street January of 2018 but has now begun selling her fabulous finds to customers again. Check out the latest 60s and 70s jackets, dresses, shirts and sequins on Etsy here.
