One more mild November day for Cork before temperatures plummet

We’ve had a good run so far this autumn.
But the pleasantly mild conditions we’ve been growing accustomed to are about to change, with Met Éireann warning that temperatures are set to plummet and a big wintery freeze is on the way.
In the meantime, get out and enjoy it: today, Friday will be generally cloudy with occasional light rain or drizzle and a few bright or sunny interludes at times. It will be another fairly mild day for November, with highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees – ideal if you’re heading into town for the Corkmas Parade this evening.

By Saturday morning however, it will start feeling significantly chillier: “Patchy rain and drizzle will spread from the north on Saturday morning before clearing by lunchtime.” said a forecaster.
“Drier and brighter weather with sunny spells will then spread from the north. Feeling somewhat cooler than recent days with highest afternoon temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees in moderate northwest winds.”
As for next week, start layering on the vests and cardigans: “Turning much colder next week. Some uncertainty in the forecast for Sunday night and Monday as a low-pressure system tracks near Ireland.” said a forecaster.
“However, there is now high confidence for a spell of cold and wintry weather from Monday night onwards and throughout much of next week with frost, ice and some wintry showers.”
