North Main Street’s Black Dog bar just unveiled a bold new painted facade

A grand reopening will be scheduled soon.
But locals were given the first peek at the new Black Dog pub on North Main Street today as the painting of the building’s facade was completed.
An image shared on the bar’s Instagram feed shows the front with a fresh green paint job, complete with some moody shadows. Signage will be added in the coming days.
“How about our new paint job? This is gonna be the greatest comeback since Rocky IV…” the bar announced.

The interior of the popular pub, owned by Cork publican Benny McCabe, is also undergoing a transformation but while the dive bar will be reopening with a new look in the coming weeks, it’ll still be the Mecca of rock music and Mexican food its customers love.
In the meantime you can pop next door to the Vicarstown for a pint.
