Met Éireann says there’s a wintery night ahead, with flurries of snow likely in places

Temperatures barely inched above 8C all day.
And tonight is set to bring some more wintery weather, with forecasters predicting the whole shebang in terms of unpleasant conditions.
According to Me Éireann, we can expect clear spells and scattered showers of rain or hail early tonight. Overnight, a band of rain will bring hail or sleet in places and with snow flurries possible on high ground.
“A few thunderstorms are also likely.” said a forecaster.
“It will be cold and frosty with icy patches possible as temperatures fall between -1 to +1 degrees. Fresh to strong and gusty westerly winds will develop in the southwest but otherwise winds will be light to moderate and variable.”
