Met Éireann is forecasting a semi-decent spell of dry, sunny weather for Cork

It’s been a bit ‘meh’ so far.
But summer 2024 could be in for some improvement in the coming days; weather folk are predicting a decent spell of warm, dry weather is headed in our direction.
Met Éireann says we can look forward to more summery conditions after the weekend: “Current indications suggest that it will remain settled into the early days of next week. Warm with daytime highs in the low twenties.” said a forecaster.
What about now though?
In the meantime, it will be dry today with long sunny spells, though it will become a bit cloudier later in the day. Highs will range from 16 to 20 degrees.
The bad news is that Friday is looking wet and overcast with outbreaks of rain spreading from the west through the day. The rain will clear eastwards to sunny spells and scattered showers later, with highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees.
It will be mainly dry to begin with on Saturday with a mix of cloud and sunny spells and just a few scattered light showers, while Sunday will start off cloudy, mild and perhaps damp but it will brighten up through the day with warm sunny spells developing and highest temperatures of 17 to 22 degrees.
The advice? Bust out the barbecue but maybe keep the rain cover handy.
