On Saturday, February 15th, the organisation will host two For the Love of Dogs meet-ups, offering a peek into their incredible work of training guide dogs and assistance dogs. It’s an opportunity to learn how these loyal pups go from adorable, floppy-eared babies to life-changing heroes.
You can go along in two locations:
Cork City Event
When: 1pm – 3pm, Saturday, February 15th
Where: Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind, Training Centre, Model Farm Road, Cork, T12 WT4A
Meet at the training centre to see how these pups get their start. You’ll get to meet the dedicated trainers who guide them through their early stages, from learning basic commands to helping them adjust to a world full of challenges. Whether you’re there to volunteer, donate, or simply see what goes into the magic behind the scenes, you’ll leave with a whole new appreciation for the incredible work being done.
Midleton Event: My Place
When: 11am – 2pm, Saturday, February 15th
Where: My Place, Midleton, P25 YT50
If you’re further east, head to My Place in Midleton to connect with other local dog lovers and learn about the life-changing difference a guide dog can make. The event will feature adorable puppies, tips on how you can get involved, and insights into the impact of Irish Guide Dogs on the lives of people with visual impairments.
You’ll leave not only with a greater understanding of the charity’s work but also with a sense of community and connection.
