The humble gin and tonic has gone from being your Granny’s Christmas tipple to the drink du jour in Cork’s coolest bars.

Now Lidl is on a mission to help you craft the perfect G&T at home.

The budget retailer has launched a Deluxe Gin & Tonic Spice set to help you add a creative flourish to your favourite boozy beverage. The idea is to amp up the flavour of the botanicals (the flavouring that gives gins their zip), without adding more mixer or any extra calories.

The spice set, available in stores now for a bargain €1.99, contains a blend of juniper berries, pink peppercorns, szechuan pepper and cardamom for infusing gin and tonic drinks.

Try it with their fresh tasting, slow-distilled Wild Burrow Gin (€24.99), which is produced in West Cork and comes in an uber fancy aqua blue craft bottle.

And that’s not all; this Christmas, Lidl also has the ideal crisp pairing for gin lovers; their Deluxe crisps will be available in Gin & Juniper Roast Pork flavour.
