Learn the art of pickling food for free at this cool workshop in West Cork

Calling all snackers and fridge fiends!
Ever dreamt of transforming your leftover veg into gloriously tangy pickles?
A free pickling workshop is here to help you enhance your pickling prowess… all free and happening in West Cork.
That’s right, for the price of zero Euros and a whole lotta enthusiasm, you can unlock the secrets of pickling perfection with local chef and cookbook author Cailtin Ruth at O’Donovan’s Hotel in Clonakilty on Saturday, April 13th.
The workshop is part of the Waste Not, Want Not initiative and will run from 3pm to 4.30pm on the day, led by Ruth whose new book Funky is a celebration of all things sweet, sour, salty, and bitter.

“There are few dishes that can’t be improved by the addition of a pickle – and few fruits and vegetables that can’t be thrown into a jar in a 10-minute pickle project.” says the author.
With suggestions for how to eat and serve each pickle and tips on how to use them in surprising ways (think pickle-brined fries or a pickle zhoug), Caitlin puts the fun into funky to pack your plate with flavour in the book (available here).
So, dust off those jars, grab your favourite veggies, and get ready to learn how to make fridge fillers that’ll have your friends saying “dill-ightful!”
Email allison@voiceireland.org to book your free spot in the workshop.
