Kinsale’s Gourmet Festival opens with Champagne and finishes with a seafood feast

It’s a gorgeous time of year to eat your way around Kinsale.
In fact, if you’re planning a foodie jaunt to Ireland’s gourmet capital, you probably couldn’t pick a better weekend than October 11th-13th, 2019, which will land you in town for the Kinsale Gourmet Festival.
And trust us; this is eating, so bring an appetite.
The fun begins on Friday, October 11th at the Blue Haven Hotel, where your €55 ticket buys you a Champagne reception with MC Barry Murphy followed by a delicious dinner at a Good Food Circle restaurant of your choice and entry to the Festival Club with Sharon Crosbie from 10pm.
The famous Mad Hatter’s Taste of Kinsale is completely sold out, but if you’re lucky enough to have a ticket, the raucous tour leave Acton’s Hotels at 11.30am on Saturday, October 12th, 2019.
If seafood is your thing, there are still limited tickets remaining for the biggest feast you’re likely to see this side of Louisiana. The Fruits de Mer Luncheon on Sunday, October 13th is a fancy affair that begins at 1pm at Acton’s Hotel.
The chefs of the Good Food Circle will be turning out some of the most exceptional seafood in the world, while the audience is entertained by MC Dáithí Ó’Sé and the Pat Fitz Band.
Tickets are €95 (book here) and the day includes a drinks reception, followed by delicious food, wines, entertainment and prizes for best dressed lady and gent as well as best hat.
We can think of worse ways to while away a Sunday.
