Join UCC’s Zoology Professor (and bird buff) John Quinn for a free Zoom on Wildlife Day

World Wildlife Day takes place on March 3rd, 2021.
And this year, Cork’s bird population will be front and centre as part of a special event to mark the occasion, organised by Cork Nature Network.
Cork nature lovers are invited to join an informative evening with bird buff John Quinn, Professor of Zoology at University College Cork, on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2021 at 7pm.
“Ireland has legal obligations to protect habitats and species that are under threat and need protection across Europe and it hosts some of the most important seabird populations in Europe, however, both facts are, either largely unknown or very poorly understood.” said a spokesperson for CNN.
“Professor Quinn will share an overview of the key findings of his latest bird research as well as some important advice on understanding their needs and importance to our ecosystem.”
Prof. Quinn’s interests span a broad range of topics in ecology, evolution and ornithology. His work has uncovered fascinating insights into the lives of birds across a range of different environments, including marine, coastal, wetland, woodland and agricultural.
The event will free and be hosted via Zoom and you can register for a free spot via EventBrite.
