The big reopening is around the corner.

As we await word on the next steps out of the longest lockdown yet, Cork’s café, bar and restaurant managers are quietly making plans to reopen the doors for a summer of alfresco dining and drinking… and now they’re looking for staff to help them get cracking.

A host of spots across the city and county kicked off recruitment drives this week, so if you’re on the job hunt in hospitality, there are loads of opportunities to join a new team on Leeside.

Here are six spots searching for staff this week:

ALCHEMY

Up on Barrack Street, Alchemy has openings for a number of pro baristas to work on a new mobile coffee bar project they’re launching this summer. Both part-time and full-time positions are available.

OLD TOWN WHISKEY BAR

If you have previous table waiting experience then the Old Town Whiskey Bar wants to hear from you. The Cornmarket Street bar and restaurant is getting ready to reopen and they’re seeking floor staff for an immediate start once restrictions are lifted.

DIVA

Down in Ballinspittle, DIVA Boutique Bakery is seeking an energetic person to help in the kitchen. Duties will include cleaning and general support, helping arrange the cakes and food prep three or four days a week, Friday to Sunday.

With two floors and a large outdoor heated terrace to cover, this buzzy restaurant is on the lookout for a number of new staff, including Chef de Partie, Commis Chef, Server, Kitchen Porter and bar staff.
