When was the last time you hit the club?

If it’s been too long, one of Cork’s best-known DJs is planning just the night to lure you back to the dance floor.

Le Cabaret on Washington Street will host Stevie G for a brand new club night on May 27th, continuing on the last Saturday of every month. The five-hour party will run from 9.30 weekly.

“Everybody keeps asking me where I play but I haven’t done a regular DJ residency in Cork since for ages,” Stevie told us.

“This club is amazing and has beautiful decor with a wonderful sound system, and it’s perfect for a big Saturday night party. I’ll be playing lots of old-school classics from all the eras of my own DJ career so far (Sir Henrys/Savoy/Pav etc), and the best new stuff too.

“People over 25 often tell me they think clubbing is just for younger music fans but in my experience there are many in their mid to late 20s, 30s and 40s (and up!) who like dancing to great music too. If you want you can come early at 9.30pm and chill for a few hours before it gets hectic, but I hope to create a night where people will want to dance.”

Expect soul, R&B, hip-hop, pop, disco, and house, and a few surprises too: “I’m working with some great upcoming R&B acts in Cork too so expect the odd guest appearance by the likes of Alicia and AbbieLee, and I’ve also got some good dance crews who will be swinging by.” added Stevie.
