Ireland’s only Model Village needs a driver for its iconic red Choo Choo Train

It might be Cork’s happiest job.
Clonakilty Model Village is hiring a part-time driver for its iconic red road train, which regularly winds through the town’s colourful streets.
Ireland’s only model village has opened applications for the job, seeking applications from potential drivers who hold a DE Driver’s Licence.
“We’re hiring!” the tourist attraction team posted on social media.

Painted in green and red, the colours of Clonakilty, the Choo Choo Road Train has two carriages, is wheelchair friendly and suitable for all ages. The vehicle is just under 60ft long and is powered by a German adaptation of a Toyota Landcruiser.
The charming train is one of the key visitor attractions for families in the town and draws cheery salutes and waves wherever it travels.
