Fashion & Farming Festival is the brainchild of Mareta Doyle, founder of the award-winning international Kinsale Arts Festival, who has teamed up with magazine editor, Ciara Hunt, and award-winning writer and journalist, Gemma Tipton, to present an event that might just change the world we wear.
“Once inextricably linked, fashion and farming are part of our domestic and social fabric, but how we farm and how we create fashion are killing us in today’s world.” Doyle explains.
“We believe it’s time to make it, better. The Fashion & Farming Festival aims to help unify the two worlds of fashion and farming to explore ideas on how to farm sustainably, create new fabrics and learn new things from older ways of making.”
Confirmed speakers include Tim Smit – The Eden Project, Carry Somers – Fashion Revolution, Sean O’Sullivan – SOSV (USA), Brigid Barry – Farming for Nature, The Land Gardeners, Darina Allen – Ballymaloe Cookery School, Coco Panazza – My Wardrobe HQ, Dylan Jones – London Evening Standard, Helen Keys and Charlie Mallon – Mallon Linen, Simon Coveney – TD.
Talented gardener Adam Clayton of U2, Mary Fellowes, sustainable expert and Creative Director, Jeremy Irons and Sinead Cusack, will join the line-up of actors, farmers and activists on the panel with more names to follow in the coming months.
Tickets are on sale now from €75 for a one-day pass.
