In Kinsale, a grand old Georgian house has been transformed into a swish rental

Planning a group getaway to Kinsale?
If you dream of running away to a grand old Georgian pile by the sea, there’s a luxurious new property to book and it’s located smack bang in the middle of the action.
The handsome Glen House was rescued from ruin by the O’Mahony family after it was left idle for many years, falling into total disrepair.
Upon purchasing it, the family got to work on a careful restoration, preserving many of its original features such as the old hall tiles and window shutters, while incorporating modern styles to give it a contemporary twist before opening the doors to guests seeking something extra special in Ireland’s Gourmet Capital.
The owner of the property, Fiona O’Mahony, worked alongside interior designer Tracy Keoghan to design the interiors, which are inspired by the home’s original Georgian features. All flooring, furniture, and bathroom fixtures were sourced locally.

The accommodation includes four elegantly designed bedrooms, each featuring a lush private bathroom.
These rooms comfortably sleep eight people, making it ideal for family or group stays in the foodie hotspot.

Guests enjoy a private living and dining experience, starting with a fully fitted kitchen equipped with state-of-the-art appliances and everything needed for gourmet cooking. The formal dining room provides a perfect setting for memorable meals and there’s even an honesty bar so there’s no need to leave if you fancy an evening in.
The charming breakfast room is a cosy space to start the day and guests also have use of the luxurious living room and a beautiful courtyard.

Fiona and Tracy have also just completed the interiors of the newly opened townhouse The Glen Quarter, which is situated next door to the Glen House.
Ideal for visitors seeking a smaller luxe getaway, The Glen Quarter features five contemporary bedrooms to choose from.
