Struggling with writer’s block?
Whether you’re a seasoned poet or you simply enjoy jotting down a line of verse every now and again for your own enjoyment, there’s a curious little get-together offering some weird and wonderful inspiration happening in Kinsale in July.
Writers from all walks of life are invited to Prim’s Bookshop: Bibliotherapy on Main Street on Thursday, July 6th, 2023 for a two-hour generative workshop with Francesca Bell.
Organised as part of the carefully curated Kinsale Arts Weekend, Scavenging for Inspiration: Looking for Poems in All the Weird Places will see Bell discuss the pleasures and power of writing poems sparked by news articles and science.

“We will go over some sample poems together, and participants will be provided a generous handout full of seriously strange prompts,” she says.
“There will be time for a free-writing exercise, so bring writing materials and your imagination!”
Tickets are €10 and available now here.
Got some books to sell?
While we’re on the topic, Prim’s has also put a call out for drop-offs.
“Currently buying books if anybody would like to swing by the shop with a box, or a bag, or even a single book that they’ve borrowed from a friend, but too much time has passed to make returning it anything other than very uncomfortable and you’d would prefer to pawn it off to me instead.” owner, Simon, posted on Facebook.
“All types of books welcome; general fiction, crime fiction, history, natural history, art, cookery…. whatever your bag is really.”
