Ian Bailey says he should be invited on The Late Late Show

The Late Late Show returns next week.
Ian Bailey has demanded that he be interviewed on RTÉ’s Late Late Show if a rumoured interview with the Pierre-Louis Baudey-Vignaud goes ahead.
Baudey-Vignaud is the son of Sophie Toscan du Plantier, whose murder in West Cork remains one of Ireland’s most tragic unsolved crimes. The Gardaí have never charged anyone with the crime, though Bailey has been tried and convicted in a French court for the murder.
If the rumours are true, Baudey-Vignaud will appear on the September 3rd episode of RTÉ’s flagship Friday night show.
Speaking to The Sun, Bailey said: “I’m a big believer in free speech but not if it’s hate speech. I find stuff like this a bit threatening and menacing.
“Given his views, if the interview with Pierre-Louis goes ahead, you would think I would be offered a platform to defend myself on the Late Late Show.
“In Constitutional law, there is a rule, there is a Latin phrase ‘audi alteram partem’, meaning ‘listen to the other side’.”
Bailey’s most recent major interview was conducted by Sinead O’Connor for the Irish Independent, and caused great controversy, as he accused her of buying him alcohol.
