Hold up: Ballymaloe just invented a new condiment for your June bank holiday BBQ

New condiments don’t come along very often.
But the clever folk at Ballymaloe Foods have been beavering away on an exciting invention and they’ve just unveiled it at Bord Bia Bloom in Dublin, right in time for the June bank holiday.
Introducing MayoLish.
It’s basically the lovechild of their legendary Ballymaloe Relish (that secret family recipe tomato and sultana extravaganza) and their oh-so-luscious mayo, made with free-range Cork eggs and fancy pants olive oil.
Slap it on burgers, dollop it on salads, drown your fish and chips in it (don’t judge, we’ve all been there). MayoLish is the ultimate all-rounder and the best part? It comes in a handy squeezy bottle made from 100 per cent recycled plastic.

“MayoLish feels like a natural evolution to the product range as we have been mixing Ballymaloe Relish with mayo at home for years!” said Maxine Hyde, General Manager of Ballymaloe Foods.
To celebrate the launch, the company has announced a new charity partnership with Food Cloud, the social enterprise that aims to address the twin issues of food waste and food security. So far in 2024, Ballymaloe Foods has helped Food Cloud to distribute 18 tonnes of food surplus, which equates to 42,920 meals and a saving of 57.7 tonnes of CO2.
“We are excited to also announce our partnership with Food Cloud and continue to support the work of this vital social enterprise, while also progressing our own sustainability commitments,” added Hyde.
You can pick up a bottle of MayoLish (€3.99) for your bank holiday barbecue at supermarkets nationwide.
