Here’s where you can book your own Great Pottery Throwdown (with drinks!)

Dying for a go on the wheel?
We can’t get enough of the heartwarming Great Pottery Showdown and its host, Cork’s own Siobhán McSweeney.
In fact, tuning into the Channel Four show has us itching to get our hands dirty and try crafting something in clay (or at least decorating something) ourselves.
Down in Skibbereen, one pottery studio is capitalising on the success of the TV show by opening its doors to beginners… and inviting them to enjoy a few drinks to get the creative juices flowing.
Cré Pottery, West Cork’s first paint-your-own-pottery studio, is hosting two BYOB nights, described as “a lovely way to relax and enjoy some adult company while painting your own piece of pottery art.”
“Bring a bottle of your favourite tipple and we’ll supply the glasses!” they say.

The next available dates are Friday, February 3rd, 6.30pm – 9pm and Friday, March 3rd, 6.30pm – 9pm. A minimum spend of €15 is required on the night – just call 028 22913 to book a table.
If you enjoy the painting session, you can book in for some proper tuition or a taster class, which is a great way to try your hand at ceramics before signing up for a block of classes.
