Here’s the start time for the Christmas Day Swim in Myrtleville

It’ll set you up for the day.
Throngs of screeching people from all ages will be gathering on Myrtleville Beach once again this Christmas Day to fling themselves into the icy water as part of a very special tradition.
The seventh annual Danny Crowley Memorial Swim in aid of the Mercy Hospital Kids + Teens Appeal begins at 10.30am on December 25th, 2019.
The event is held in memory of Carrigaline teenager Danny Crowley, who sadly lost his long battle with leukaemia in November of 2013. Since then, Danny’s friends have been joined by many other participants from near and far to brave the chilly waters at Myrtleville Beach in memory of him.
Funds raised will go to the Mercy Hospital Children’s Leukaemia unit where Danny spent a significant amount of time when having treatment in 2013. The unit also provides a Paediatric Oncology Outreach Service (POONS) which enables children to receive treatment from the comfort of their own home.
To date, the event has raised a phenomenal €94,000 and this year, Danny’s family and friends hope to exceed the €100,000 mark.
