Here’s how you can finish your weekend with a glorious sunrise hike

Need a break from the Christmas booze marathon?
Monkstown-based Wild Goat Adventures are offering you the chance to take a night off and treat yourself to a once-in-a-lifetime experience; a magical morning in the great outdoors, watching the sun rise over one of Ireland’s highest mountains.
First things first; it’s an early start. The group will meet at 3:30am on The Square in Mitchelstown on Sunday morning, December 10th to escort their bold adventurers on a sunrise summit of Galtymore mountain, on the border of Limerick and Tipperary.
From this vantage point of 919m, hikers will enjoy beautiful views over the rolling green fields as the sun makes its slow ascent into the sky – major bucket list material.
It wouldn’t be a Wild Goats Hike without lots of food so the crew will be serving up mugs of hot tea and snacks on the mountain top. After hiking back to base camp, there’ll be BBQ sausage sandwiches waiting for breakfast.
You know the saying ‘a Sunday well spent brings a week of content’? Yeah; that’s this one in a nutshell.
If you’d like to join the group, dig out the hiking boots, wrap up warm and purchase a ticket (€75) here.
