Here’s how the Christmas weather is looking in Cork for the next 48 hours

It’ll be cloudy this Christmas.
If you’re off out to do the final bits before the big day, Met Éireann advises bringing a brolly because there’ll be frequent showers too.
Tonight will bring a mix of clear spells and scattered showers, with lowest temperatures of 2 to 6 degrees.
Saturday (Christmas Eve) will begin with a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers, turning heavy at times, especially near coasts. Highest temperatures will range between 7 to 10 degrees in fresh southerly winds, stronger near the coast so wrap up well if you’re planning a beach walk.
On Christmas Eve night, Santa will have some more scattered showers to contend with, some may be heavy and prolonged, but the good news is that it’s looking like things will improve by daybreak.
Christmas morning, Sunday, will be dry and bright (ideal for testing out those new bikes and scooters).
“This rain will gradually make its way southeastwards across the country through the afternoon and evening.” said a forecaster.
“Colder clearer conditions will follow to the west and north with some showers feeding into northern coastal areas later, possibly of hail or sleet. Highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees early in the day in a light to moderate southerly breeze, turning round to the northwest and freshening later.”
