Grab your Dryrobe and try out this revamped beach rest after your next sea swim

It’s the perfect spot for the post-swim selfie.
If you are a hardened sea swimmer and are planning to keep it up during the autumn and winter months, then you’ll appreciate this.
The beach rest area in Roberts Cove has had a makeover, and it’s looking mighty fine. It’s now the perfect place to enjoy your reviving flask of tea and dive into a sandwich after braving the chilly waters.
Cork talent Gareth Joyce is the artist behind the spectacular sails mural at the scenic bay of Robert’s Cove, located around 10km from Carrigaline.
The Mayfield muralist is also behind some of the most iconic pieces in the city like his showstopper on Carey’s Lane featuring elements of the French Huguenot Quarter to his celebration of the Irish Defence Forces in the Cornmarket Centre.
He told Yay Cork that it was nice to relocate his largely urban-based work to the beach and he completed his Robert’s Cove project during our recent Indian summer. “It was an amazing week with beautiful weather. I even got in three or four swims a day,” he said.
Sounds idyllic. Right, where are our togs?
