Grab an espresso with your house plant at this cute garden centre coffee dock

We do love an unlikely coffee spot.
If you’re in Skibbereen of a weekend and on the hunt for a new decorative majesty palm for that empty corner, you can potter amongst the plants with a cappuccino in hand from their in-yard coffee truck.
Using speciality ground beans from local producers Stone Valley Coffee, The Brew Box is serving up their delicious caffeinated beverages and yummy baked goodies every Friday and Saturday at Skibbereen Garden Centre.
The café-on-wheels is run by West Cork couple Aisling and Niall who converted a 60-year-old horse box into a hatched coffee trailer to open the business last year. It now sits outside the garden centre every weekend.
“We fell in love with the coffee scene, especially in Australia,” said Aisling “When we came home and settled down Niall went driving lorries while keeping his interest in coffee and perfecting the art.”
Now Niall mans the truck while Aisling is involved behind the scenes and both are working hard to make the venture a success.
“We wanted The Brew Box to represent us, what we love and be as eco-friendly as possible, while serving yummy treats, banter and most importantly -the best coffee. Everything is local and made from the best produce.”
They even have an inflation-busting offer running every Friday: for €5 you can grab a coffee of your choice and sausage roll, which you can even enjoy seated: the truck opens into a covered plant display area with picnic tables so you can take the load off between ferns runs.
