Grab a pint for an evening of ‘bizarre and mad stories’ from history at this city pub

We love an ‘ole wild tale over a pint or two.
And this May, a pair of podcasters are hosting a deep dive into some bizarre and mad stories from the annals of Irish history in one of our favourite city pubs.
Shite Talk: An Irish History Podcast by comics Kevin Larney and Jason Brennan is coming to Cork, with a one-night show at Coughlans Bar on Douglas Street on Friday, May 3rd, 2024.
If you haven’t listened to the podcast yet, you’re in for a treat. The conversation may range from the colourful love letters of James Joyce to the Cork woman who purchased Joe Dolan’s actual hip bone (signed ‘Mind my hip’ by the late star) in a charity auction on eBay for €690.
“We always love these Cork gigs and we’re looking forward to getting back and drinking a heap of Beamish with ye all in May!” the pair announced on social media.

The educational fun begins at 8pm on the night and you can book a ticket (€13.85) here.
