Got an hour to help the environment?
If you enjoy some salty sea air and a bit of exercise of a weekend, there’s a beach clean that will guarantee you plenty of both this Saturday in East Cork.
Clean Coasts Ballynamona is hosting the one-hour event on Saturday, October 17th at Ballycrennane Beach so you can help remove washed up plastics, netting and other items that can be dangerous to birds and wild animals.
As well as being a fascinating 60 minutes (you never know what you might find in the sand) every piece of litter removed from the marine environment is a piece of litter that won’t pollute the ocean or be ingested by marine life.
Numbers at the Ballycrennane event are restricted to 15 people this time in line with Level 3 restrictions so make sure you register for free here first.
Our next socially distanced 1 hour beach clean takes place on:
SATURDAY, Oct 17th at 12pm on Ballycrennane
Places are limited to 15 & a free ticket to take part must be obtained here https://t.co/QStLRmo2q6#Ballycrennane @CathalIRL @EastCork1 @Coast_Monkey @CorkCoast @yaycork pic.twitter.com/sP2gIYGzWw

All contact information for group members/participants attending the beach clean up will be collected at the time of booking to aide contact tracing and participants are asked to maintain a strict 2m social distance.
Pickers and bags will be provided and kids are welcome too, provided they register at the link above. The group will meet on the approach road at 11:50am and finish at 1pm.
If you don’t get a place on this beach clean up, you could always head to a deserted strand elsewhere and fill a bag solo.
