Get creative at a free Upcycling Bootcamp for young adults

All you need to bring is your imagination.
Are you between 18 and 23 and looking for a way to express your creativity while making a real difference for the planet? From October 20th–24th, 2025, the Magnet Room at Glen Resource and Sports Centre is the place to be.
Running daily from 2pm–3:30pm, this free workshop will teach you how to transform everyday materials like plastics, textiles, and glass into artistic masterpieces and practical items. All materials are provided.
The workshop is run by Artéteka, an art-based organisation that supports young people to develop a sense of self, uncover their potential, acquire new skills and meet peers from across Europe.
What’s in it for you?
Participants will learn practical upcycling techniques to use at home and explore the environmental impact of materials, discovering how small changes can reduce your carbon footprint.

You’ll also meet other like-minded young people passionate about sustainability and climate action, plus your creations could be featured on Cork City’s new tourism app.
All participants on the day will get the chance to apply for a funded trip to Brussels in 2027.
Whether you’re into art, environmental activism, or just want to try something fun and hands-on, this is your chance to make cool stuff and make a difference.
Spaces are limited so reach out to isobel@arteteka.com with any questions or nab a free spot here.
