Freediver Claire Walsh is hosting a breathwork talk and swim on this Cork beach

Pack your togs.
Ireland’s celebrated freediving superstar, the extraordinary Claire Walsh, is holding a free talk in Kinsale — with a spot of sea swimming also included.
Claire, who was the first person to represent Ireland at the Freediving World Championships in 2019, is coming to Kinsale’s gorgeous new library on Saturday, November 4th at 8.45am.
When she’s not holding her breath underwater, Claire is reading, teaching, and talking about breath and what it can do for our body, mind and voice on land.
Her debut, bestselling book Under Water was published in March and it’s a candid story that charts her path from being an inpatient in St. Patrick’s hospital to her diving in the World Championships. A truly captivating story of how holding her breath taught her to live.

Before Claire’s talk, the day commences with an invigorating breathwork and meditation session on The Dock Beach at 7.20 am, followed by a plunge into the ocean for the brave.
The uber-hip Wild + Tame coffee shop has joined forces with Claire Walsh to bring this unique experience to locals, all in support of the Kinsale Youth Community Centre. While the event itself is a gift to the community, donations at the end of the talk are warmly welcomed to support the vital work of the local community club.
