Follow the crowd to this city café for Friday evening music by the river

Sometimes it’s hard to believe you’re still in Cork.
When the sun is high in the sky, Corkonians are dining alfresco and the streets are alive with the sound of tourists, buskers, and workers grabbing an after-work pint, you’d be forgiven for mistaking lil’ old Cork for a major European City.
Myo Cafe, nestled under the Shandon bells and facing the river as you step off the pedestrian bridge, is putting on free weekly live acts to delight the thirsty Pope’s Quay crowd.
Customers at the popular riverside cafe can sip an iced latte, ginger beer, organic white wine, or just a regular americano while soaking in the sun, making plans for the weekend, and listening to the sweet summer sounds of the Myo performers.
This week, local legend and vocalist Sara Ryan will take the stage for a Friday sing-song session en Lee.
“Share your song with us!” said the Myo Cafe crew on Instagram. “This coming Friday we will have an evening of song with a focus on working with the voice. We would love people to come and join with a song that is special to them, and if our international friends could bring a song in their native tongue -we would love to hear it.”

Previous acts have included Indian music performances by Rasanua, “Celtic flamenco” stylings by De Sangre, and sax and clarinet duo Port of Kumbria.
Sara takes to the stage at Myo this Friday, August 12th from 6pm-8pm.
