FIRST LOOK: A new botanical-themed terrace just opened at the Montenotte Hotel

Brought to you by The Montenotte Hotel.
Warm weather calls for cocktails alfresco.
And if you’re planning the first catch-up with your besties after months in lockdown, now you can host your reunion against the lush backdrop of the new-look Panorama Terrace at The Montenotte Hotel.
The Montenotte’s outdoor terrace has undergone a stunning botanical transformation ahead of its reopening this week- just the thing to celebrate its Best Boutique Hotel gong, awarded by the Irish Hotel Awards in June.
Inspired by the hotel’s sunken Victorian Gardens, designer Jane Gilloway has turned the space into a summer paradise, with bright summer stems, tropical ferns and palms and bright bursts of peonies everywhere you look – perfect for the first selfies of summer 2020.
There’s heated outdoor seating overlooking the gardens (you can enjoy a quiet date à deux or book a corner for your group) a woodland walk, a dreamy wildflower meadow and fountain, as well as a bird’s eye view of Cork City.
Summer starts here
The Montenotte has also launched a new all-day Terrace Snacks and Drinks Menu, which can be enjoyed in accordance with the Phase 3 rules on dining out until normal service resumes on July 20th.
Order the ‘A Taste of the English Market’ charcuterie board for a selection of local treats (ideal with a pint of Murphy’s) or choose from tasty nibbles such as prosciutto and parmesan pastry straws, truffle skin-on fries, crispy duck spring rolls, and Korean chicken bao buns, along with dessert options and a coffee menu.
There’s an Irish cheese plate to tuck into with an excellent bottle of wine, as well as award-winning cocktails and an impressive whiskey selection.
“This summer more than ever, outdoor space is a big consideration for social meet-ups.” said The Montenotte’s General Manager Brian Bowler.
“We are proud to have unrivalled al fresco dining options for a city hotel and are thrilled to welcome people back with an exciting new Panorama Terrace and menu to discover.”
After lunch or cocktails, you can wander around The Montenotte’s sunken Victorian Gardens and enjoy the aromatic scents of lavender, myrtle and rosemary, and the soothing sounds of their water fountain.
Just the thing to whet your appetite for a sundowner; after dark, the Panorama Terrace is festooned in twinkly fairy lights that ensure the holiday atmosphere continues… even if you are only a cab ride from home.
