First Live at St John’s gig announced as the church moonlights as a music venue

This could be quite the spiritual experience.
Back in September, Graham White from Freezer Room Sessions announced that he was planning a series of acoustic gigs in St John’s, located right on the harbour in Monkstown.
On January 18th, Irish musical legend Jack O’Rourke takes to the altar with support from indie songwriter All the Queens Horses for the gothic church’s very first live music gig, ever.

Built in 1832 and designed by William Hill, St John the Evangelist’s Church features several unusual period details, making it quite the spot for reflection, worship, and a little reverberation.
The 150-seater building is still used by Church of Ireland parishioners to practice their faith but will also become home to local artists and musicians for musical nights out.
Tickets to see Jack O’Rourke plus support cost €26.50 per person and are available from the venue’s Eventbrite page here.
