Everyone’s welcome at this kid-friendly Eid Festival in the Cricket Club

Out and about in town next Sunday?
Families across Cork are being invited to come together and experience the colour, food and community spirit of a special Eid festival taking place in the city.
The family-friendly Cork Eid Festival takes place on Sunday, March 22nd at the Cricket Club on the Mardyke in Cork City and celebrates Eid al-Fitr, the festival that marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, when Muslims around the world fast from dawn to sunset and focus on charity, reflection and community.
Organisers say the Cork celebration is open to everyone — people of all faiths or none at all — and is designed as a welcoming day where the wider community can learn about the traditions of Eid while enjoying food, music and activities for all ages.

They’ll have a bouncy castle, henna tattoos, food and clothing stalls, an ice cream van and kids activities all day from 12 noon until 6pm.
With a lively atmosphere, free entry, family entertainment and plenty of cultural experiences, the festival promises to be a warm and inclusive way for people across the city to come together.
