Eight new affordable homes are up for long-term rent in Carrigtwohill

They’ll be allocated on a lottery basis.
But if you’re one of the lucky folks to secure one of Cork County Council’s new Cost Rental scheme houses in Carrigtwohill, you’ll be enjoying rent that is at least 26 per cent below private market rents in the area.
The scheme, which aims to provide affordable rented accommodation to people on middle incomes, is inviting applications for the new two and four-bed houses at Baile Adaim, Carrigtwohill. Application will open at 12 noon on Thursday, November 27th, 2025.

The scheme is aimed at people who do not own a home, are above the threshold for social housing but have difficulty affording private rented accommodation.
Cost Rental provides secure tenancy at a rent which is below the market rent in the local area and is also a long-term secure rental option. This new tenure of rental property is supported by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
“The development in Baile Adaim is conveniently located in this popular residential area just a short distance from Carrigtwohill’s town centre and all its amenities.” said Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Mary Linehan Foley.
“This new scheme demonstrates the work that Cork County Council is doing in achieving the housing targets set by the government.”
Interested? Applications for the scheme will be accepted via the online application portal on Cork County Council’s website corkcoco.ie.
