East Cork’s summer sunflower-picking farm reveals next visiting dates

They’ve been inundated with delighted visitors.
Now East Cork’s wildly popular sunflower picking farm has announced its next available dates for the coming weekend.
After a busy season so far, the Joe’s Farm Crisps HQ in Killeagh will open for just one day of flower picking over the August bank holiday: Saturday, August 2nd from 10am to 3pm.
With over 100,000 sunflowers (ten varieties) to pluck from, Joe’s Farm Crisps are hosting sunflower picking days throughout the summer in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland.
Entrance costs €30 per car with half of this fee donated to the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland, a tradition which the family have kept since starting the sunflower picking in 2021.

The fee includes one bunch of sunflowers and access to walking trails on the grounds, including loads of scenic photo opportunities for a few summery family photos.
Plan your visit
After this Saturday’s session, the next opportunity to pick your own yellow blooms at the venue will be when the second patch of sunflowers blooms – roughly two weeks time.
There is no booking needed for the sunflower picking, but the farm, the café and farm shop are all cash only so don’t forget to swing by the ATM on the way.
The farm and sunflower picking are wheelchair and buggy accessible along grass and stone pathways but there are no dogs allowed on the farm.
Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, cakes and crisps are available in the farm shop during your visit.
