Dutch eyewear brand Ace & Tate just opened a slick new Cork city store

Here’s a great excuse to update your specs.
Dutch eyewear brand Ace & Tate opens a new store in the heart of Cork today, marking the company’s second location in Ireland after launching in Dublin in 2018.
The store, located at 46 Oliver Plunkett Street (formerly Benetton), brings the brand to one of Cork city centre’s busiest retail streets, where you’ll now be able to shop their delicious colourways (hello Rooibos, Miso, Volcano….Cornflake), trending and classic styles.
The Cork opening is notable as the first Ace & Tate store globally to offer Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) scans to all customers. The quick, non-invasive 3D eye scan allows optometrists to identify early signs of eye conditions that may not be detected through standard eye tests, bringing advanced preventative eye care into a high-street setting.

“Cork has a strong creative energy, and we chose a warm, characterful design to reflect that spirit.” said Ace & Tate CEO Lex van de Vliet.
“We’re also excited about introducing professional eye health checks in a retail setting, allowing us to spot potential issues much earlier than standard tests and making this level of care accessible to everyone.”
The Cork store forms part of Ace & Tate’s continued growth across Ireland and Europe and will employ locally trained optometrists and retail staff.
