Where’s me jumper?
Time to dust off your jolliest Christmas geansaí and help put Cork on the map; the Marina Market is gearing up for a World Record attempt.
On Sunday, December 17th, from 12.30pm to 2pm, the quest is on to have the most Christmas Jumpers worn in one place at the one time.
The current record for the largest gathering of people wearing holiday sweaters is 3,473, achieved by Kansas Athletics (USA) at a men’s basketball game on December 19th, 2015.

“Let’s turn the Marina Market into a sea of festive knitwear, creating a memory that will be talked about for years to come,” said the organisers.
“In the spirit of giving, we’re excited to announce that there will be a fundraising element to support S.H.A.R.E. and CUH Charity. Your participation in this record-breaking event will contribute to making a positive impact on the lives of those in need.”
They added: “This will take a lot of work and commitment so we would love/urge people to join in. Bring your friends, tell your family, and let’s break a world record together.”
The festivities don’t end with the record attempt – enjoy music from 2pm to 4pm, creating the perfect atmosphere to bask in your record-breaking glory.
