The only Corona we want to hear about ever again.
The Coronas have added a second date in the Cork Opera House after the original gig sold out. The second concert will take place on Tuesday, 7th December.
In a press release issued by the band’s media team, they acknowledged the unfortunate coincidence that saw them share a name with the pandemic-causing virus that has plagued the planet for the last 18 or so months.
“When the pandemic hit in March 2020, not only did it scupper their world tour plans and delay an album release, it also left the Dublin 3-piece with an unfortunate band name issue.
“Not to be perturbed, the band released the album True Love Waits in August and managed to secure the No. 1 spot in the album charts, outperforming Fontaines DC and Taylor Swift, while also becoming the fastest selling Irish album of 2020.”
The band is yet to have a chance to tour the new album, and the upcoming Cork gigs will be among the first opportunities to hear True Love Waits live.
The Coronas will also be in Cork later this month as part of Indiependence’s Autumn Air series. We can’t keep them away.
Tickets are on sale now for the Cork Opera House date from €43.50, available here.
